WAUSAU, Wis. (WAOW) — A new life saving resource is now available in the Wausau area.

Located on the 400 block on the corner to the left of the band shell on the Grand Theater side, you’ll find a SaveStation.

It’s equipped with an AED that can be used to save someone’s life if they go into cardiac arrest.

Wausau Fire Department

It’s provided by the Wausau Fire Department and the Marathon Park Service, funded by a community grant.

They said they’re hoping strategic placement of these AEDs will do some good.

“We’re trying to put stations like this in areas where there is public and there could be a cardiac arrest emergency and giving the public and empowering the public tools to move to action and possibly save a life,” said Jared Thompson, EMS Division Chief with the Wausau Fire Department”

They plan to install two more AED stations across the area, one on the river by WOW and another at Athletic Field.
