About SaveStation

SaveStation exists to make public access defibrillation simple, visible, and trusted, because an AED only saves a life if people can find it, access it, recognize it in an emergency, and feel confident to use it when it matters most, knowing it’s truly rescue-ready.

24/7 Accessible AED Cabinets

Known best for our outdoor lineup of products, SaveStation prides itself on helping customers choose the right cabinet solution for their environment. Every cabinet and tower is engineered to protect AEDs from harsh external conditions, helping keep them within their required operating temperature so they’re ready to perform when seconds matter. From high-visibility, weatherproof outdoor cabinets to fully monitored towers that send alerts if opened, SaveStation delivers the right outdoor solution with critical features that keep an AED protected, visible, and fully operational—so it works when it’s needed most.

To strengthen public confidence and speed up response, SaveStation also introduced an indoor lineup designed to mirror our outdoor stations. The goal is simple: consistency. Just like the iconic London phone booth – instantly recognizable no matter where you are—SaveStation creates a familiar look and placement standard so when someone is searching for help, they know exactly what they’re looking for and where to go.

More than a cabinet.

SaveStation is more than a cabinet – it’s designed to empower the everyday person. Created by a first aid training company, SaveStation is rooted in education and built on a deep commitment to public readiness. We provide clear, practical learning tools that help bystanders recognize cardiac arrest, approach the cabinet with confidence, and use an AED without hesitation.

Funding Options

We understand that bringing the right outdoor AED solution into your community can be a financial hurdle. SaveStation offers programs that make these projects possible and sustainable:

  • Crowdfunding platform built to help individuals, schools, teams, and neighborhoods achieve their fundraising goals and bring lifesaving AED access to their area.
  • Corporate sponsorship opportunities, where SaveStation connects interested corporate sponsors with community locations in need, then designs custom decals to recognize their support and showcase their role in protecting the public.
  • Neighborhood placement programs that bring AED access into the heart of local areas—because a large percentage of sudden cardiac arrests occur in the home, we need AEDs where they’re needed most.

Together, we can save more lives.

SaveStation is built on the idea that outdoor AED access has to be done right – so the device works, and people know it’s there. An AED placed outside needs proper housing to control the environment, keep it within operating range, and protect it from weather, temperature swings, and tampering. Just as importantly, it needs to be unmistakably visible and supported by education, so bystanders don’t hesitate. That combination: high-visibility design, purpose-built protection for any environment, smart monitoring options, and public-friendly training. turns an AED from something that’s merely installed into something that’s truly ready to save a life.

A SaveStation Timeline

The Evolution of SaveStation
  • London Phone Booth SaveStation Installation - SaveStation

    The Beginning

In 2016, Action First Aid, a National AED Distributor and a leading Canadian First Aid training company, set out to bring outdoor AEDs into the North American market.

  • Driven By Data

Driven by data, that survival from sudden cardiac arrest had not improved in 20 years and that 90% of all arrests are still fatal, their team set out to bring AEDs closer to people in North America, 24/7.

  • Outdoor AED Cabinet Piloted In Barrie - SaveStation

First Outdoor AED Cabinet Piloted in Barrie, Ontario

With the support of Mayor Lehman, from Barrie Ontario, the first temperature controlled outdoor cabinet was placed outside at a public beach.  The pilot was successful and the AED stayed warm in the winter and cool in the summer!

Lack of Awareness – A Major Problem

Watching hundreds of pedestrians walk by the newly installed defibrillator at the beach, the team realized that the public was not aware of the defibrillator, and when asked, they did not feel comfortable using it.

  • AED Tower at Waterfront Installation - SaveStation

New Idea Sparked – The Need for a Highly Visible Free Standing Unit

The team stepped back and worked hard to design a free-standing tower that was highly visible and would light up at night.

  • Naming the New Tower

Doing market research and actually speaking to people outside of the AED industry, the team quickly realized that the acronym AED was not a familiar term. It also became very clear that the general public did not understand what a defibrillator was for (was it safe?!), how it worked and that anyone could use one. During our research, many told the team that they thought they were for the paramedics only.

  • The Naming of SaveStation

With the realization that other life-saving devices should also be quickly available and visible to the public—alongside an AED—e.g., Naloxone, Stop the Bleed etc., the name followed naturally. This wasn’t simply a cabinet; it was a SaveStation: a dedicated, highly visible place in the community where lifesaving equipment is accessible.

    Designing the Family

Evaluating the indoor market and seeing there was no consistent look to ANY cabinet, the team set out to design a family of products.

Inspired by the London Phone Booth

Inspired by the London Phone booth and other standard emergency symbols, the SaveStation family of products was born.
