Grand Avenue Park Receives First Public AED SaveStation
The City of Chino Hills and Chino Valley Fire District have installed the city’s first SaveStation Tower at Grand Avenue Park which will give residents access to an automated external defibrillator (AED) device for use during cardiac emergencies.
The Tower is located near the tennis courts and accessible to parkgoers visiting the courts, sports fields, playground, or trails.
In a cardiac emergency, residents are encouraged to call 9-1-1 before using the AED. When the Tower is opened, a notification is activated to alert the Chino Valley Fire Department and city officials. Residents can use the AED until trained professionals arrive.
The Tower supplements the city’s existing AED at the park’s staff office, providing an additional layer of safety for park visitors.
The Tower and AED machine, valued at approximately $6,500, were donated by the Chino Valley Fire Foundation and the Chino Hills Community Foundation.
