An outdoor AED SaveStation has been installed at Underwood Stadium in Bay Minette, Alabama, providing 24-hour public access to life-saving emergency equipment during cardiac emergencies.
Officials say the installation marks the first outdoor AED SaveStation deployed by a school system in Alabama and is part of a broader initiative to expand AED access throughout Baldwin County schools.
The weather-resistant station houses a fully automatic, FDA-approved Avive AED and connects directly to 911 to help emergency responders react quickly during a cardiac event.
“We know that sudden cardiac arrest is the number one killer in young athletes during exercise.”

School officials emphasized the importance of immediate defibrillation, noting that survival chances decrease significantly with every minute treatment is delayed.
“For every minute that that defibrillation is delayed, the chance of survival decreases by 10%.”

The new installation is intended to improve emergency preparedness during athletic practices, games, and community events held at the stadium.
