The City of Rockmart has installed the first outdoor AED SaveStation along Georgia’s Silver Comet Trail, helping improve emergency preparedness for the thousands of people who use the trail each year.
The project was completed through a partnership involving AdventHealth and The EMS Super Store and marks a significant milestone in expanding public access to life-saving defibrillators in outdoor recreational spaces.
“Having quick access to an AED can make the difference between life and death during a sudden cardiac emergency.”
The Silver Comet Trail stretches nearly 95 miles from Smyrna to the Georgia-Alabama state line and is widely used by walkers, runners, and cyclists throughout the year.
Organizers say the installation represents another step toward building safer parks, trails, and communities across Georgia while increasing awareness around heart-safe emergency preparedness.

Project partners also expressed hope that additional AED SaveStations will eventually be added along the Silver Comet Trail in the future.
