Orillia is on the receiving end of a donation with life-saving implications.

The Peggy Hill Team, a real estate service, is contributing a SaveStation Tower for installation at the Port of Orillia, a waterfront destination popular with residents and visitors alike.

A SaveStation Tower consists of an AED (automated external defibrillator) housed in a cabinet with round-the-clock monitoring of the device and an alert when it is used.

The monitoring provides GPS tracking if the device is removed from the cabinet, staff said.
