A new automated external defibrillator (AED) SaveStation is now available at Riverside Park in Zanesville, providing residents and visitors with 24/7 access to life-saving emergency equipment during cardiac emergencies.

Installed near the park’s pickleball courts, the city’s first outdoor SaveStation is housed in a climate-controlled, weather-resistant cabinet designed to keep the AED rescue-ready year-round.

Emergency response guidance emphasizes three critical actions during a cardiac emergency: Call 911, start CPR, and retrieve an AED.

The publicly accessible SaveStation is equipped with monitoring technology, alarms, and step-by-step voice instructions, allowing even untrained bystanders to confidently assist during a sudden cardiac arrest.

Officials say early CPR and rapid access to an AED can dramatically improve survival outcomes, particularly in high-traffic recreational areas where emergency response times are critical.

Using an AED alongside CPR can significantly increase the likelihood of survival following sudden cardiac arrest.

By installing the SaveStation at Riverside Park, the City of Zanesville hopes to increase awareness of CPR and AED use while improving emergency preparedness for residents of all ages.
