The City of Zanesville has installed its first public AED SaveStation at Riverside Park, providing residents and visitors with 24/7 access to life-saving equipment during cardiac emergencies.

Located near the park’s pickleball courts, the climate-controlled station is designed to keep the automated external defibrillator accessible and rescue-ready in all weather conditions.

Emergency response experts emphasize three critical steps during a cardiac emergency: Call 911, start CPR, and retrieve an AED.

The installation is part of a broader effort to improve survival outcomes for sudden cardiac arrest victims by making AEDs available in high-traffic public spaces where immediate access can make a significant difference.

The SaveStation includes weather protection, alarms, monitoring systems, and step-by-step voice instructions that allow even untrained bystanders to assist during an emergency.

Using an AED alongside CPR can significantly improve the likelihood of survival following sudden cardiac arrest.

City officials also hope the installation will increase awareness of CPR and AED use, encouraging more residents to familiarize themselves with emergency response procedures.

The Riverside Park location was selected to improve response times in one of the community’s busiest recreational areas and support the city’s ongoing public safety efforts.
