Andrew’s Assist, a Huntley-based nonprofit founded in memory of 22-year-old Andrew Fulcer following his sudden cardiac arrest death in 2022, has donated a publicly accessible AED SaveStation to the Village of East Dundee.

The automated external defibrillator has been installed outside The Depot at 319 N. River Street in downtown East Dundee, providing 24/7 access to life-saving equipment for residents and visitors.

The project was completed through a collaborative effort involving Andrew’s Assist, the East Dundee Fire Department, and Lauderdale Electric, with the shared goal of improving emergency preparedness and public safety throughout the community.

“This installation reflects a shared commitment to preparedness, rapid emergency response, and increasing access to lifesaving equipment throughout the community.”

Village officials say the installation represents an important step toward expanding public access to AEDs and strengthening the community’s emergency response capabilities.

A SaveStation ribbon cutting and dedication ceremony is scheduled for May 9 at The Depot, where attendees will also have the opportunity to learn Hands-Only CPR and practice using training mannequins provided by the Andrew’s Assist team.
