South Central High School in La Porte County, Indiana, has added another publicly accessible outdoor AED SaveStation to its campus, further expanding emergency preparedness and public access to life-saving equipment.
The new SaveStation was installed at the front entrance near door number three and was made possible through a donation from Tonn and Blank Construction.
This latest installation becomes the sixth outdoor 24-hour accessible AED station on the South Central campus and adds to a broader network of more than 15 AEDs located throughout the school and Student Activity Center.
The SaveStation is designed to automatically call 911 the moment the AED is removed from the cabinet.
Five additional outdoor temperature-controlled AED units were previously donated through support from the Health Foundation of LaPorte.
School officials say the expanded AED network provides an added layer of safety for students, staff, and visitors across campus.
The devices are managed and maintained by certified athletic trainer Danielle McIntyre and school corporation nurse Kelli Soenksen.
